The Jonas Brothers recently reunited and released the song βSucker.β
People began to get exciting shortly after the Jonas Brothers tweeted about the release of the song.
That tweet was the first sign of any activity on the account, @jonasbrothers, since a retweet on September 4, 2013. On February 28, 2019, they tweeted a picture of the song cover and a tweet that read βMidnight ET. #Sucker.β That tweet also included a link to the song.
After not releasing music for so long, the news of their reunion spread like rapid fire across many social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
Within these social media platforms, many big accounts, including @MTV, @Spotfiy and @PrimeVideo on Twitter, shared their opinions.
@MTV tweeted, βHow am I expected to do anything today when the only thing I can think about is the #JonasBrothers? This is a real SOS, @JonasBrothers,β just an hour after the tweet from the Jonas Brothers themselves. Spotify shared their tweet less than two hours later.
Since the announcement of their reunion, the Jonas Brothers have remade their iconic βoh how the tables have turnedβ video, played a one night show in Los Angeles, California, and joined James Corden on The Late Late Show for an interview segment and carpool karaoke.
In the past when an artist has dropped a song or album without much warning, it took a week or so to top the charts, but this was not the case with the Jonas Brothersβ release of βSucker.β
The song dropped less than a day after their tweet and has remained at the top of the charts on Spotify and Apple Music. It also has been one of the most requested and played songs on many radio stations all across the country.
Although the song itself is not horrible, many people, including myself, were expecting more from their first song back together.
βSuckerβ does not contain the boy band feels that all of the songs released by the Jonas Brothers in the past did, considering they have not released new music for over five years now.
The song is very upbeat, just like a lot of their older music is. But, while it is upbeat, it also carries a very mature vibe to it with the lyrics.
Nick and Joe are the two main singers on the song. Their voices have matured a lot since the last time music was released by them, and this also gives the song a more mature vibe.
One of the main things that has personally stood out to me about the release was how vibrant all of the marketing images have been. All of the images contain the bright colors that Joe, Nick, and Kevin can be seen wearing on the song cover. The music video also reflects this.
Overall, many people, including myself, are pleased with the reunion of the Jonas Brothers. Many people grew up watching the βCamp Rockβ movies and listening to the Jonas Brothers, so having them come back to release music together almost seems unreal.

Girl’s Bowling At States
Hannah Bartels
This season, a seniorβs dream of going to states is finally coming true! Hayley Roberts will compete for Stow in states, bowling alongside her sister, Taylor Roberts.
Hayley first decided that she wanted to bowl when she was younger and bowling with her cousins and grandpa. Her cousins were very talented bowlers and Hayley decided that he wanted to be that good. As soon as Hayley came into high school her freshman year, she immediately started bowling for the bowling team and even made it to varsity.
Bowling is a great sport for everyone because it is a sport that you can participate in all your life. It does not necessarily require someone to be in shape or athletic but it does require skill which is something someone can always practice. βBowling is the one thing I can always do no matter what is going on in my life,β Hayley says.
Hayley holds many memories from her four years of bowling but her most memorable is winning states during her sophomore year which she calls, βby far the best experience.β She also has made many friends along the way with her team. βI love that my team can pick each other up when another one is down,β Hayley says.
One of her biggest goals for the season is to win states and she believes the girls team has what it takes to, βgo all the way.β She is happy with the way her team is currently doing but wishes they could have won the tournament they lost.
As of March 7, the girls are currently on their way to Columbus for the OHSAA State Tournament.. They are hopeful to earn another victory. Winning states for the second time would be a great thing for Hayley and a highlight of her senior year.
Snow Days In Ohio
Minimum Wage
Shea Sullivan
A new year brings new wages for Ohio workers. While the federal minimum wage is set at $7.25, minimum wage in Ohio has increased from $8.30 to $8.55, and jobs which rely heavily on tips can expect an increase from $4.15 to $4.30.
This news is certainly positive for those working low wage jobs, especially for younger generations. A raise of 25 cents may not seem like much, but every penny matters on a paycheck.
Talk of a minimum wage increase started in 2006, when Ohio voters passed a constitutional amendment to increase the wage by the rate of inflation, according to Cleveland.com.
However, not everyone currently making minimum wage can count on their hourly pay to go up. According to the Ohio Manufacturersβ Association (OMA), the increase only applies to businesses making an annual gross receipt of more than $314,000 per year.
Although this raise seems promising and beneficial at first, some feel that the raise is too little to make any big change, and might cause more harm than good.
βI feel like raising minimum wage might help for awhile, but then everything will even out so it seems kind of pointless,β junior Audrey Stone said.
Others feel that since the majority of younger adults or first time workers are the ones working minimum wage jobs, then the pay increase is not worth some consequences they believe will follow..
βI think that minimum wage jobs were meant for teenagers and other first time jobs, so itβs nice, but I feel like increasing the money too much will cause more problems such as inflation and tax increase,β junior Kaleigh Bozick said.
Yet many people still feel that the raise will be an asset in the long term, and also pushes progress in Ohio, considering that surrounding states like Indiana and Kentucky still have their minimum wage set at the federal line of $7.25.
βI personally think the increase is good. For high school students, a 25 cents increase can be a big deal considering most of us do not have a lot of expensive bills to pay,β junior Shelby Burgess said.
Even with differing opinions surrounding this topic, one thing everyone can do no matter their wage, is continue to work hard and hope it pays off. Experts will have to see if the wage increase hurts or helps the state economy in the months to come.
