Northeast Ohio Gets Into Holiday Spirit

Several locations, food shops and grocery stores are preparing for the holiday season. From selling
holiday-themed snacks to holding traditional events, Stow and Akron-Canton areas will be booming with Christmas.
Cupcake Binge Owned by Lynn Stricker reopened in May of 2018 and is excited to sell for the holidays.
According to Akron Beacon Journal, the store offers all kinds of flavored cakes and icings. Everyday flavors consist
of chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, Cup O’ Java (which contains prepared coffee in the cake and dried coffee in the
icing) and Mexican Vanilla (containing cinnamon spice flavors throughout the cupcake).
Cupcake Binge offers seasonal and limited time flavors as well. One cupcake costs $2.50, a half dozen costs $15
and a dozen costs $25.
Island Delights Candies is a Seville-Medina located company founded in 1985. According to Beacon Journal, the
store is a haven of all-natural sweet or salty-sided snacks.
Selling under the brand of Grove Harvest, the company makes a popular product, Coconut Haystack; a coconut
mix with creamy fondant. Grove Harvest’s founder started making coconut after importing it for years, taking action
of his knowledge of business.
As the tradition keeps on, Acme Fresh Markets hosts their annual Breakfast with Santa (Doughnuts with Santa)
this month. Parents will bring their children to eat free doughnuts, get a free picture with Santa and a present.
Children will also be able to make ornaments as parents will receive free coffee.
Pav’s Creamery in North Canton will also be hosting a greet with Santa type of event called Sundae with Santa.
With the event being extremely similar to Acme Fresh Markets, the only difference is that kids will be eating ice
cream with Santa, but also get a picture with not just Santa, Mrs. Claus also.
Pav’s Creamery is located at 708 S. Main St.
The First United Methodist Church of Akron will host its second Gingerbread for Humanity event to raise
money.
Participants will create gingerbread houses, a kit selling at $12.
Lastly, the Countryside Market in CVNP will continue indoors at Old Trail School in Bath. Remaining dates to
shop are Saturday, December 15 and 22. The first date after the new year is on January 12. The market consists of
breakfast, food, vendors and more.
